is there any reason we could not make drone videos at an autocross or track event?

See page 67 (PDF page 69). To summarize: "The use of drones is prohibited at all PCA events."

Drones are fun as long as they are nowhere near a PCA event. Someday there may be a change in drone usage rules but as of now the PCA insurance policy is clear and unambiguous: "No drones, no exceptions."
