Interesting article on cars that are fast in the corners but slower on the straights :surr: vs. cars that are faster in the straights :burnout: and slow in the corners and why you need to point them by

I like the mention of Sim Racing.

Just got Oculus Rift and now I am sim racing via VR and it is simply amazing!

Must be a reason many professions use simulators. 8)

Sim helps me get a Laguna fix between track visits.

Are you Iracing?
VR is cool, a direct drive wheel and big screens are nice too.

not racing yet but like getting a few hundred practice laps at Laguna before a race weekend.
It makes my first session on track feel like its my third session.
practicing for my one and only Long Beach race weekend this April. LB in beta form on Iracing.

spectating the 24 next weekend so adds depth to sim drive the Daytona roval.
Maybe this year try to sim drive each F1 track before that F1 race weekend.

eventually maybe you can start a PCA Iracing race group.

Great articles. Should be required reading and watching for a TT. :banghead:

I play iRacing and Project Cars 2.

I like the live racing on iRacing, and the car and track selection on Project Cars 2.

Have a Fanatec steering wheel and pedals, along with a seat and my Oculus Rift.

Also have 2 fans setup to simulate wind which is also pretty cool.

Before I used to use my 110" projection screen, but now with the Rift it is a whole new experience and wouldn't even consider going back to a TV setup.

With the VR you can look around, look ahead and really get on the apex during the turn because you have a much better sensation of where you are on the track.

Also help big time with racing on iRacing because you really get a good perception of where the cars are around you and gives you the ability to really get on the car in front of you without hitting it.

Best $400 bucks I have spent in a long time!

We should do a session together on iRacing @ Seca, which is my favorite track on there.
