Postby tb911 on Wed Oct 23, 2019 3:51 pm

Due to low registration numbers, the club race portion of the Buttonwillow weekend has been cancelled.
All registered club racers will get a refund of monies paid on clubregistration.net

The Time Trial is still happening!

We encourage you to sign up for the Time Trial: http://msreg.com/BW1119

Note TT registration closes at 8 PM on 10/25

Two reactions: BooHiss and Yay!
It would have been cool to watch the Club Race but I'm glad the TT is still happening.
The track looks like a lot of fun.
Are we still driving race 1 ccw?
I found one pretty good video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/n_O9CiwsDh0
Do any instructors or drivers have videos stashed away driving their Porsche in this configuration?

What's the difference between Race 1 and Race 1A?

The buttonhook. 1 is tight, 1A is another shape ;) .

Race 1: http://buttonwillowraceway.com/pdf/brp- ... ace-01.pdf

Add in the "A section" to the above (bottom left) and you've got it.

I've never run 1A CCW. Should be fun.

And that video is an excellent illustration of what a PCA DE/TT at Button Willow WON'T be like.
That is a POC Red race; so the top level of local amateur racing.

In contrast we will not be racing, or dive-bombing at the end of the straight or passing in a corner.
We like bringing our cars home just like we brought them albeit with a little more dirt on them.

This will be more like what you might see

Just got back from Sonoma, the last day was cancelled due to the fires and power outage at the track, but there were talks about still doing the club race at Buttonwillow as I believe the GGR region is willing to help out and make it happen... FIngers crossed!

Sorry but that ship has sailed and we can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. :surr:

We will be going forward with the time trial weekend as now scheduled.
