Best way to remove track gunk?

The Time Trials at Buttonwillow, Big Willow and Chuckwalla were a blast but I'm finding the asphalt and tire gunk on the car is difficult to remove with regular car wash soap. What do you track guys/gals use to wash your track cars? Do a first pass hitting the spots with Goof-Off?

Thanks,
-Terry

Mother's racing rubber remover worked well on a friend's car. I bought some, but a look at my car will reveal I've never used it.

I prefer a good wax to strong chemicals, plus you get a good protective coat so future marks don't mark as much.

Bug and Tar Remover (I usually use the Turtle Wax version). Enough solvent to soften rubber marks, but gentle enough for car finishes.

I use WD-40 and/or Meguiar's Cleaner Wax.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Jad, I do wax the car to keep it slippery to reduce the gunk adhesion (and maybe a .0001 reduction in drag  )

old school mother's RRR or turtle wax.

DO NOT use 3m adhesive remover, at least on plastics...ugh.

Griot's Garage sells a product called "Track Spray." Subtitle: "Safely Removes Rubber Marks From Any Surface." I just tried it on some rubber marks on the 911. Works. That said, for the really black hits, takes a couple applications along with microfiber cloth rubbing. My sense is that in all cases one is well-advised to reapply wax to any cleaned areas, as certainly removing the rubber marks must also remove whatever wax protection there was. Another caveat: "Spot test on vinyl graphics or clear bras."

if this site more easily supported posting photographs, I could show you how easily I peel track gunk off when I peel off the protect-n-peel roll on protectant market by our fellow SDR members.
I think they market it as road warrior now.
It doesn't protect from rock chips, but makes clean up way easy.

Quick update to my earlier post. Now that many of us have "time on our hands" I took the time to use the Griot's product. I found it to be a two microfiber cloth activity: first to rub in the solution (can't simply spray it due to vertical surfaces), cloth getting dirty while doing so; fresher cloth to clean everything up. All my black marks are gone, and some had been on the car almost 2 years.
