I just moved from L A into Rancho Bernardo, and of course my check-engine light went on.
Up in L A the dealerships were close to my home, but service got stupidly expensive over the years.
Can you recommend some mechanics in this area?
2005 Carrera S with 129k miles, my daily driver, completly stock.

Vollig Autowerks http://volligautowerks.com/
Off Miramar, probably the best Porsche shop in SoCal.
They'll take good care of your car.

Adam at Vollig is the best! Diagnosis, repair, price, truly great. Hard to believe he's only been open for a year, a lawyer pursuing his automotive passion. Huge facility, have been there a couple of times and there's maybe me and one other street car, the rest are racecars. He knows his stuff !

Congratulations for leaving LA and relocating to the San Diego area of the USA commonly known as Porsche Heaven. Couple more suggestions: Charlie's in Encinitas (ask for Niko) and Mirage Intl off Miramar Blvd (most likely Jae will answer the phone). As far as the dealerships go: negotiate, negotiate, negotiate. Believe me: it works.
