Who was it that was going again? I'm still thinking of going and wanted to see which hotel you said you had good luck getting into...?

Also, which days are you (whoever you are) doing?

Which Laguna event? If you are talking about the 3 day 105db next weekend with Speed ventures and POC, we will be there with the cup car. We are staying at Bernardus lodge, they might have availability since POC cancelled.

POC cancelled because you are only allowed the car driver and one other person to attend the event.
Good luck handling a cup car by yourself, hope no tire & wheel changes needed

We have self supported the car before - including tire changes. With air jacks its really no big deal ~5 minutes to change a set of tires. Other than that it needs very little. Tire pressure is easy to DIY, and adding oil is no big deal. I'm not really sure why people are so afraid of self supporting these cars in non-race conditions

The OP was deleted based on the terms and conditions for the event.
My apologies for any confusion.

Man, that was some serious fun.
I loved turn 2 and the corkscrew, what a blast. Still need to work on 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 11. :)
Social distancing was practiced and masks were worn in the paddock.
The only downside was the tops of my hands got sunburnt (I wore a long sleeve shirt and forgot sunblock).
A Lamborghini had an engine fire? (big cloud of smoke and a confused driver), a McLaren went off on the corkscrew and a Corvette blew its engine on the front straight (oil drop).
They managed the full course black flags pretty well.
After the first session, they gridded all drivers by fastest lap. That was really great, I didn't have to worry about slower drivers until I lapped them. Lot's of space to do better and chase down the guy who was faster.
No Vollig maintained cars had mechanical problems, there were more than a few there.
It was cool to see old friends and mentors and meet new ones.

Agreed - this was a really fun event. It was great to see other SDR members out running. Congratulations to David Vasquez on his new personal best in his GT3RS - 1:34.88. It was a ton of fun chasing David down in the GT3 Cayman. That said where does the hive mind think I can shave more time off my 1:35? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8B_AI27Hw-Q&t=247s

Alex,
thanks for posting! Is that Selby's old car?
First off, I wish I took turn 3 as well as you. Part of what I liked was the way you handled and exited 2. Something you may consider trying at turn 9, is turning in a little later or "slower". Holding the line about a car width from the right side at the top of 9 a little longer. Turn 5 may also benefit from a little later turn in. Something to try....

Thanks for the feedback Dan! I'm not sure who's car it is, Vali lent it to us for this event while our car is down.

I was battling with Turns 5 and 9 all weekend in this car - adjusting to mid engine is new for me. It just doesn't rotate like a 911!

Rather sad as this is the result of Car week and the Reunion being canceled.
Bummer SV could not run sound free like we do at Reunion.
If possible planning to join SV at Cal Speedway this fall.
