Tire recommendations for street 911?

I have an ancient set of tires on the 1988 911 and one of them blew out the sidewall when hitting a rut. Since I don't track this car anymore, RE71Rs or similar aren't really necessary anymore. Spirited driving mostly. What are decent tires for its 8" & 9" x 16" Fuchs? Any recommendations from the air-cooled folks here?

Thanks!

I have sold all my 16-inch Fuchs for this exact reason.
16-inch tire options have just fallen away one after another.

Yoko A052 is the best and really only option.
225/45-16 and 245/45-16 is my preference.
225/50-16 and 245/45-16 is the other more standard option.

Toyo RA-1 is the other option but I find these to be too wiggly at full tread for G-Body car.

Yes, A052's are very soft but you aren't going to drive enough miles to wear these out in the next 5 years on the street.
And no rain please!

I am also a fan of the Yoko AO52s.

Unless you're tracking, the A052s are overkill IMO. I have a set of Continental Extreme Contact Sports on 7s & 8s (205/225, but I think they make 8/9 sizes as well) and they're perfect for simply spirited driving (which is what I do w/ my 84 carrera only, no track time).

RA1s are also a good choice and still pretty cheap.

Conti's used to be an option, but...
Terry has 9x16's rear and requires a 245/45-16 which Conti no longer makes.
245/45-16 is super hard to get other than super sticky or race tires.

For a car with 205/225 option Contis are a great choice-Yes.
Also Mich Pilot PE2's for a little more money.

P-Zero's should work just fine if they make them in the right sizes. Don't need track tires for a street car.
Just check out what TireRack has available and do a bit of research, should be easy.
