Chuckwalla Valleet Raceway Cabin Availability

Postby mschacht on Sun Oct 24, 2021 12:38 pm

Recall, there are only forty (40) cabins, with double occupancy, accommodates 80 people. With a 120 car attendance, from 20 to 40 people will be left out in the "cold". These folks have two (2) choices, camp out, or stay in Indio, or Brawley both 1 hour drive each way...so out to the track on Friday and drop the car, back to Indio, that's 2 hours of driving. Out and back on Saturday, 2 more hours and out on Sunday, another hour on Sunday = 5 hours wasted. Being a crafty lot, drivers regardless of Club, snag these cabins months out, many months, noting the April 2,3 cabins are all booked, the cabins for October 2022 will be coming up first of November....the message, don't dally or you be in Indio or Brawley :banghead: and pissing away 5 hours of back and forth commuting time + the gas needed. There are some nice hotels in and around Indio, stay north of 15. Brawley, I found a tacky motel there last year...not gong back there.

Back in the old days, there were no cabins, just 4 trailers at Chuckie. A fair number stay in the motor homes at the track and one brave soul would pitch a tent next to his car
Most of us stayed in Indio at the Date Tree or when there was an event in the valley, Blythe. One advantage to Blythe is it's a short hop across the boarder and cheaper gas. Hotels are cheaper too there. Just not a lot of choices for dining. It is a little closer than Indio too

Why would you stay in Brawley? That's pretty far away, or did you mean Blythe?
