987.2 Boxster. Is it possible to remove the rear view mirror from the windshield? How? I want to have a windshield tint strip applied to the upper part of the windshield and the application would be easier if I could remove the mirror and bracket that holds it.

Scroll down a few posts in the replies and there is a PDF. They show a locking pliers with non-marring jaws, you might be able to duplicate by wrapping the mirror base in cloth.
