Welcome new and veteran members of the PCA-SDR Forum.

I wrote an article for the witness to give the Forum some exposure since many newer members are unaware or under exposed to the Forum.
Yes, we have massive social media outlets out there now, but this is your audience.
No trolls or other car people, just SDR members talking about Porsche and SDR stuff..
Here is a link to the article if you haven’t seen it.
And Thanks to Greg Phillips for the awesome cover shot of me and my track 911 at Willow.

Please use this thread to let me know how your forum experience is going especially if you are a newer member.
There are some tricks in the article on how you can edit your profile for a better experience as well.
As noted in the article you can click the button to “Log me in with each visit” that way when you open the page you will always be logged in.
I know a lot of people don’t do this and forget their password and get locked out.
That’s just one simple tip in the article.

Post here if you need any help with detailed subjects about Forum navigation and I will do my best to answer them here for all to see.

Stevie G! Excellent and informative article.
One hurdle that I encounter, in an effort to make our forum more rich, is image insertion.
A brief tutorial would definitely help me and possibly others?
So nice to know you are up and about. Ur a tuff SOB

Thanks for chiming in Dr. Dan!
That is a good question that I don't think I covered in the article.
Because we started in 2004 and have over 47,000 posts on the server there is no way we could store all those images.
So the short answer is we can't host picture off your computer or phone but they can be inserted in your post when hosted elsewhere.
Just go to the F.A.Q section and see my post from November 30th. 2019!

Thanks!
I easily searched the FAQ section of our Forum.
Found Steve's "how to post" and refreshed myself on the Image adding procedure.
Sweet!!!!

As one of the other moderators of the forum, I would just add that not all the forum members are SDR, since we do allow members from other regions as long as they are current PCA members. Most of these are from neighboring regions who participate in our driving events and want to discuss them or keep informed about them. Some are members of far-flung regions who are visiting or living in SDR region temporarily (or long-term) and don't want to give up their original region membership because they are planning to move back eventually, or they want to maintain relationship with their home region. We do screen every forum user application to determine their PCA membership, and this does help control the trolling and spamming that other forums can experience. Also, requiring everyone to use their real name in every post promotes civility and club camaraderie as well, something that is sadly lacking in many forums that allow anonymous posting.

For those who want to review Steve's post on image insertion in the FAQ section, here is the direct link:

Steve & Tom:

I am one of those temporary transplants, and I really appreciate the hospitality extended to my wife & I by SDR during our extended stay in North County last year. The club events we participated in were wonderful, especially the driving tours. And our Boxster (which we shipped out & back) loved being able to stretch her legs on some of those legendary SoCal roads.

So thank you for allowing me to be here.

Just wanted to chime in that I still visit the forum here fairly regularly to check in on the friends I made in PCA-SDR.

I've now been an ex-PCA-SDR person longer than I was an active PCA-SDR person, but I'd still join in a hearty, "We are SDR!"
