question for 911 cabriolet

Postby bunks911 on Fri May 20, 2005 8:06 pm

Can anyone help me? I have a 1983 911 cabriolet, the top needs to be restored and I am also looking to have it repainted. Can anyone give me the name of a good shop where I can take it to? I just moved here to SD from NY and I am trying to get to know the area... I also need to know of a good repair shop as well for future reference.

For paint (and also audio/video/nav, if interested) I'd highly recommend Syndicate Automotive Concepts. They've worked on several of my cars and have done an amazing job. Owned by a PCASDR Club member.

Autos International is a well known local interior and top shop doing concours level work for many club members.

For Paint: Phil Thearles in Santee.

For interior and possibly cab. top: OB Upholstery in Ocean Beach/San Diego.

For mechanical: Dieters, Black Forest, Mirage International, Mind Over Motorsports.

Good luck, and welcome!

We just had our cab top replaced and the frame repaired by OB Upholstery, it took a little longer than originally promised but we are quite happy with the results. :)

I just had my seats redone at OB Upholstery and they did a wonderful job. The owner spent a lot of time with me going over different fabrics. I went from leather to cloth. I wanted the car back in 2 days and he finished the job in 1 day. I absolutely love what they did and they were a pleasure to work with :D . I would highly recommend OB Upholstery.
