Was Evan Beal really on standard street tires? That time is pretty impressive even for a GT3 on dot 200+ street tires.

Thanks Jad!
Yes Evan was running on street tires. That GT3 is quite a car. I spent another weekend instructing in the yellow GT3 and the more I ride in them the more I realize that car is probably the most superior street/track car out of the box that Porsche has ever made (except for the the GT3 RS that they did not import here!) Quite a car and capable of much faster times than we have seen so far. I think it will take the owners of these some years to learn them well enough to get lower times out of them.

My question is does putting a tire with a treadwear rating below 100 on my car (GT3) just add a couple points or does it automatically bump me into the next class?
People have told me conflicting answers and I noticed on the results above that I am in the same class with Evan who is running MPSC's. I am told they are much better for the track than my PS2's which leads me to my second question.
On a track like Buttonwillow does anyone have any idea of how much improvement someone could expect in lap times going from PS2's to MPSC's?
Having just purchased new tires last week I am not going to change anything now, I just want to be able to make a good decision next time around. Any other tips or advice about tires is greatly appreciated!
