Cracked Wind Shield

Postby sbrewer on Tue Jun 14, 2005 8:26 am

Do you guys know if I can enter an auto cross with a cracked front window? This will be my first auto cross if I can make it I don't want to show up at the crack of dawn and get turned away.

ouch.

Is there limits on windshield damage too? I can understand a small chip or crack, but what if the crack runs all the way across the windshield? Wouldn't flex during the runs cause the cracks to travel or even shatter?

The front glass is laminated with a safety film in between layers. It will not shatter.

for some reason I thought a windshield was very similar to tempered glass, hence will explode like tempered.

Wait, I have an aftermarket, uh oh...

Doesn't a crack in the windshield count for 2 points?
