As if there weren't enough events going on that weekend.....
Local AX
POC at the Streets
Sparco USA garage sale

If you aren't going to one of the others, come spectate at the TJ Grand Prix.
You can take the trolley to the border, then walk across the border and take one of the red and white taxis. I'm told by the Mexican racers that the fare should be right about $6-$8 and you should only use the red and white taxis.
Margaritas? :D

How about a URL or specific info like a schedule so the truly distorted among us can try and do everything that weekend! That is why I work, to recover from my weekend activities (and pay for them as well).

It's time! :D
John Chambers and I will be heading down tomorrow or Saturday. Come have a beer trackside and watch us mix it up. The actual races are on Sunday afternoon. We'll try to do the SD Region proud.
Have a great AX.

Well, it was another great weekend of wheel-to-wheel racing in the streets of Tijuana, Mexico.
Great friends, great food and drink. It's kind of like camping and racing at the same time.
We put "El Zebra" on the pole for Category "C", but got out-dragged on the start by 2 faster cars. The first was caught, pressured, and soon waved me by like a real gentleman! The second was a tougher customer and it took all my smarts and driving ability to find a way around him under braking and on the turn in. Did it in a pretty unorthodox place and I think the move came as a complete surprise! His Integra was faster than my 944 spec car. I could catch him under braking and stay with him through the turns, but he would squirt away from me on the straights far enough so as to make it all but impossible to get close enough to outbrake him in the normal spots. Anyway, got the class win, and there was much rejoicing......
Ran the 45 minute enduro, too. That was more fun because there was more traffic! I started dead last of about 14 cars, including a monster Viper(crashed into a tire barrier) and a Radical. Worked my way up to a very satisfying 5th among giants.
No dogs got on the track like has happened in the past. The event ran on schedule all weekend, with some slight delays. The emergency response crews were quick and performed well according to the drivers who needed their services.
This was a well run event and I'll be back in August for the 3rd round of this series.
BUT, waiting in line at the border sucked! That's the price we pay for trying to keep the bad guys out. :D Maybe if they had road racing in their own countries, they'd be happier and stay at home.
