Calling all 944's!

Postby Tim Comeau on Fri Jun 17, 2005 11:10 pm

We're getting them together at Willow Springs for the July 9th-10th weekend. Come hang out with us! Enter your street 944 in the HPDE Groups (like our DE's). We have racing 944's coming from all over the South West, including Phoenix, Sedona, San Diego, L.A. and even NorCal. This class is growing so fast.......... :D

3 hours? Maybe 3 1/2? It's not a bad drive at all. 15North really moves. 15N to 138W to 14N. You can caravan with others going. We usually have radios and stay in contact. :D
Willow Springs is a thrill. All you have to do is stay within your comfort limit.

I will be on the "Right" coast that weekend, but it should be a good time. If you have not ran at WIR, it is a must do. Tim did not mention that there is also a TT group that runs, I see Doug Kott running the TT's at most events (he's always smiling.) :D Andy, the tracks are a lot easier on the cars and tires than the Q  . Have fun all, see you when I get back.

Glad to know that, I'm praying I won't have a final that Sat. in adv. accounting. Not to mention I hope I'll have some tread left on my beater Sumi's after next week

You can enter for Sunday only if you want. I have lots of 225/50/15 TOYO's in varying states of wear. Any other excuses I can kill?
If anybody needs help getting there, let me know! I'm very well connected and extremely resourceful when it comes to helping 944 buddies.

FYI - There is a great article on the Australian 944 Spec series in the new issue of Excellence. As I recall they routinely have have full grids of 25+ cars, including people that have dropped from higher classes seeking the competition the class offers. The title really grabs your attention:

Right, Pete!
They started racing them in 1999, so they're a few years ahead of us, and I pay attention to their website for trends and lessons learned. They also have some great looking cars so I use those for paint and graphics ideas.
