Comparing classes Dan? Kary is right, Jads 'turbo' got waxed by an AM car, huge...nice try though... You have lots of partial data, but with little substance... 8)

My appologies to Jad for throwing him under the 944..er uh.. I mean bus...

Dan, since I am under the bus, exactly how many tt have you beaten me at in the last year or so, zero... and there have been several we BOTH attended  This data can be skewed many ways, but basically I can't compete at AX's, but can at TT's and usually can make the top ten depending on my performance and the attendance at both.

I will happily take a fully sorted 6 cylinder race prepped "Porsche" in trade for my car anytime, I just like the ~$25K total price versus the $50k-$100k+ of my 911 competition....

Race Prepped? Fully sorted? 50 -100k? Have you actually seen my car?? The caution tape was there for a reason...
If I had even 50k in my car we wouldn't be having this conversation, and I would give Roland a run for his money...
My suspension is a state of the art 1973 suspension... I hope to fix that before Pahrump. You are going to Pahrump aren't you Capt??

I think you could at least understand an average of the difference of all the cars ahead of you, maybe not :P Sorry for the error. Nonetheless you were 7.82 seconds from top time and 2.9 from my time.

The real question is what boost/chip do you use as you have already admitted to having to do so at the speedway to win. You might not be all that under powered if you admit to the boost in HP. And rather than using the excuses of tires, old car, under horsepowered, why not belly up and compete? That way there are no excuses  You are too good of a driver to have those excuses!

Well, Dan (and kary). I'm sorry that too much info got you confused.

#1 - I was comparing Mr. Ibbitson's car to those in AM - and specifically one event - where he beat out the AM cars to take TTOD at a single A-X. I wan't talking about you, Dan A., Jad or Curt in references to A-X's, just Bill I. and one particular A-X event. Sorry if that was confusing.

#2) - I was talking about you, Dan A., Curt and Jad in regard to Time Trials/Big Tracks only. So, I meant to segregate the A-X's from the Big tracks. I guess I threw too much data your way.

#3) Kary: I was comparing exclusively two KP water pumpers to a couple of AM 911's. Not trying to throw lots and lots of cross-class comparisons .... just the fact that two front engine Porsches have been able to defeat two or three AM 911's on one or two occassions. Dan A., you asked "You talk about Jad's car like its a NA 83 944 running 225's.. Comparing classes Dan?" :?: The answer is, no. I'm not. And if you think I'm talking about Jad's car "like its a NA 83 944 running 225's.. " of course I'm not. :? Where'd you get that idea? Interesting twist on my words, though... Do you guys write auto insurance policies? The twists could be real profitable....

I'm simply pointing out that a couple of KP water pumpers have, at one time or another, spanked a couple of AM 911's. You guys are good at interpreting things .... well.... at best.. loosely.

Here... let me walk you through it one more time...... (sigh...)

Here's the original quote:

"Whatever you want to call it, it's aways entertaining when a car in KP class with 4 cylinders and less displacement (Two that I can think of: Capt. Nemo and B. Ibbitson) can leave you 6-cylinder "PORSCHES" in AM class in the dust and wishing for more ... something ..... at both the AX and Big tracks. Whatever you want to call what you are losing to, you're still losing to these 4-cylinder 2.5L to 3.0L cars in your 3.2-litre 6-cylinder AM cars."

So... we see two cars listed Bill I., and Jad - A.K.A. Capn. Nemo - as waterpumpers defeating specifically AM 911's with 3.2L displacement. Nothing more. No cross-class confusing rhetoric. No "NA 83 944 running 225's."

Just a simple statement: "it's.... aways..... entertaining.... when... a... car... in... KP... class.. .with.... 4.... cylinders.... and..... less.... displacement...can ...leave ...you ...6-cylinder ..."PORSCHES"... in ...AM ...class ...in ...the ...dust ....and ...wishing ....for .... more ...."

Gee, Curt. You're right: it isn't "rocket surgery."

Ibid, Dan A.

Partial? Little substance? This data ... more complete than any other submitted by you or anyone else..... is directly from Kary's website database. Directly copied. Poor data? Talk to your 911 bretheren if you think it's poor data . My data is substanciated, is yours?

Headline - "Severe Icon Shortage Disrupts On-Line Systems"

AP/UPI - Computer engineers were scrambling today to frantically replace icons, known as "smileys", which have suddenly become in short supply.

Steve Case, founder of AOL, said "We are working with the FBI in tracking down the culprits who have been consuming an excessive number of smileys. It is too early to tell whether this is a terrorist act, and no group has claimed responsibility for the shortage. Thus far, we have traced extremely high usage to the San Diego area, and of course, there are some local ties with some of the Al-Queda terrorists from 9/11. At this point, our support staffs are working to restore the stockpiles of smileys and get them distributed to areas that desperately need them, such as company HR officers. In the meantime, we ask that all Americans conserve the use of smileys."

In related news, the price of regular smileys hit $3.00 today, with premium smileys going for over $6.00 in some hard-hit areas.

Oh brother.... Partial in that it was one event...little substance in that the other AM cars (including me) were not in attendance (AX) so its not me losing. You keep trying though...if you write enough words something will ring true...

So I can't beat a 300hp turbo on a big track, you need a map to figure that out???

Sorry.... was that an excuse? Now you start with the excuses?

Thanks, DanA. Your responses are, always, just what I expected. Pretty much, I can start every response to you with:

"it's.... aways..... entertaining.... when... " and simply fill in the blank.

Seems that when 944/968 drivers come in less than first, we say "Yea, that was fun. Missed catching you by that much."

Whereas 911 drivers .... "hufffff.....puffff... yea!?!...but..... well,..... your car isn't a real Porsche!" (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)

"it's.... aways..... entertaining.... when... " Dan A. gets to smack talkin.'

(Ya know, Dan A., if you don't start with the trouble-makin,' you won't find yourself in trouble. )

See you on the 10th?

Kary, get over the fact that I put a chip in the car at Fontana for a few hours to try it once, it was one day a long time ago, every other event I have run about 215-220 HP at the wheels. I could legally run about 400 hp and still be in KP, but haven't spent the time and money to get there yet - but watch out if I ever do

Blah, blah, blah... this is such an old argument, and quite frankly getting very dull, can't you guys come up with something new?

Hey, I know, how about we talk about "Gas Prices"? After all it is the SUBJECT of this thread ;).

So today I notice regular at 3.04 and deisel at 3.28. Seems like we are really going now....so what is the beat before it drops down....3.48 for regular? $3.73 for deisel?

Wow, a giant hijack of a gas price discussion.

Dano, what happened to the nice guy we used to know?

I suggest we move this to a new topic entitled "Ill kick yer *** in the Pahrump"

Agreed!

So, this morning I paid $3.11 for premium and filled my truck up for about $49.75. At the same station yesterday afternoon, I paid $2.92 and filled up the ...... ahem........ "white car" ......for $46.72. Both took about 16 gallons of premium, plus or minus a little. So a jump of $0.19/gallon in less than 24-hours. YIKES! I'm bicycling to the next event!

I think I'll keep it at 65 MPH until the price goes down.... (Could be a long wait, though)
