DME chip '95 911

Postby alan smith on Wed Nov 23, 2005 10:04 am

I have a '95 911 carerra with Fabspeed maxflow mufflers, cat bypass pipes and a carerra cup airbox. I am considering adding a dyno tuno DME chip from Fabspeed. Is there any downside to this? They calim to add up to 16hp. Are ther other cons or considerations to adding the chip? Other problems, etc. Of course I would keep the original chip for future use( if needed)

Joe Fabianni normally tunes the chip to the car on a dyno. I would recommend that you somehow do the same but given you are not in PA I am not sure how you would get your particular car tuned to the chip. Many folks just use the generic tuning these chip guys do, but I do not like that because it is rather generic rather than tailored to your car.

Do a search on Rennlist, there are many that use Steve Wierners (sp?) chip for the 95 993. He can change the fuel mapping/advance for different intakes and muffler options.
The previous owner put one on mine and she's definetly stronger than 4-5 993's I test drove before I bought her. I think there around 500.00
