Model Question

Postby mhknapp on Fri Jan 20, 2006 7:04 pm

oops: What is the difference between a Boxster 986 and a Boxster 987? I have a 2001, which is a 986 (I think).

Thanks

The 986 was the original Boxster that debuted in 1997.

While there were numerous upgrades made to the 986, in 2005 the engineers created a whole new chassis, transmission, electronics, body panels and comfort features too! They called this redesign "987."

These changes were so exciting to me that I finally bought a Boxster S to replace my 170k mile 1992 968.

Thanks Chris,
Our 2001 only has 30k on it so I think we'll hang on to it for a few more years.
