Boxster Convetable Top

This is one of those off the wall questions, but it's bugging me. One the left (drivers) side of my convertable top, near the fron there is an elastic strap with a hook on the end of it. It isn't connected to anything, it just lays there. I just know it's supposed to be hooked to something, I just can't figure out what, and it's driving me crazy (short trip). If anyone knows......... please
