I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had to pay, fully or partially, for a Boxster or 911 rear main seal replacement. The "leaking rear main seal problem" is well-known. On my 2002 Boxster the rear main seal was replaced twice, then the engine was replaced, and then the seal was replaced on the replacement engine, all under warranty. Porsche declined my request for a warranty extension on the replacement engine, but said based on my history and complete service records with the dealer from whom I bought the car they would extend "good will" if the problem occurred after the warranty ran out. My warranty has ended, and I am concerned about my future liability for very expensive repairs. If anyone has had "good will" extended to fix this problem, how good was the "good will"? Thanks.
