Cost effective tire question...

Kumho V710's to fit my car, on ebay for $1028 no tax no shipping verses Hoosier R6's at $1096 plus tax plus shipping (from Tirerack). I time trial on big tracks only, and wonder if the initial savings would be lost in the ;ong run due to wear issues. I am surprizingly easy on tires, getting about 30 heat cycles on a set of RA-1's. Thoughts...

30 heat cycles on RA1's is nothing. 40-50 is not that uncommon. 710 and Hoosiers, 30 heat cycles would be a miracle, maybe 10-15?

The 710's and Hoosiers and clearly a bit faster than RA1's but wear is a big step down. I think preference from 710 or Hoosiers is mostly personal taste and driving technique, but the price of slight improvement over the RA's did not seem like a good value to me so I have little knowledge on the specifics.

Is a typical AutoX considered 1, 3, or 12 heat cycles? And are you referring to full-tread RA-1, or shaved?

Shaved. No AX at all. All run sessions from Big Willow, CFoS, Little Willow, and two from Buttonwillow. Still had tread, but so greasy they were getting dangerous. Alot like driving in the rain. So that's 30 25+ minute heat cycles. On a car that weighs right at 3000 lbs. Still, V710s or R6s?

I have not run on the R6's. But have been using the 710's for a while now. They are a good tire. Maybe not as fast as the Hoosier out of the box, but more consistent over the session. I hated the Victoracer, so I was very reluctant to try another Kumho. But have been impressed with the 710 so far.
