So thats why I was hearing a clunking sound! Now, how do I determine what size the sway bar is on my 88 944S so I can get the right bushings? Is there a good local source and should I upgrade to Delrin or poly bushings? Thanks

If you can't read the size on the bushing or you think it is the wrong one, measure with vernier calipers and order through Paragon Parts or Pioneer (usually pretty close on price with this kind of stuff). Sway bar could be anything from 24-30mm. But 25.5 or 26.8mm would be the most likely choices. Part numbers are:
951.343.794.02 25.5mm
951.343.794.04 26.8mm

Oops, I mean part number on the bushing! If this car is staying on the street, get the OEM bushings especially if the rest of the suspension is stock.

Thanks Brian, I found the number on the bushing from the other side. The one that had failed didn't have a number anymore
