AC High and low pressures on a 993

Postby Tawfik on Wed Aug 09, 2006 9:16 pm

Does anyone know what the pressures are supposed to be on the high side and the low side in a 993 AC circuit.
Looking around different forums I found that 18PSI and 200 PSI with the engine running at 2000RPM is the norm with an external temperature of about 80 degrees.
I know that the Denso compressor used on the 993 warrants pressures which are lower than AC systems in other cars but I am trying to confirm.
Thanks in advance.

Tawfik,
You must be psychic, I am checking 993 A/C performance right now and have the graphs right in front of me.
At 80' the pressures at 2000 RPM are as follows:
High- 12-17 Bar
Low- .6-.11 Bar
Center vent outlet temp - 7-10.5 'C

If you have high pressures and low cooling, but also a full charge check the condenser. They get easily clogged with dirt, leaves, mud and such.

Thanks a lot Steve, MY AC is cool but not as cool as I would like it to be especially in this Porsche Greenhouse called a Targa, so i wanted to make sure that my pressures were correct.
Take care.
