964 sunroof air deflector arm broke

Postby elbeee on Mon Dec 11, 2006 3:24 am

One of the little 3"-long black plastic retract arms (pulls down the air deflector on my coupe as the sunroof closes) has broken one of its eyelets.

There's a number embossed on it: "490 524 655"

A quick search on the internet turned up nuthin' obvious, so I'm wondering if there are any places internet-order-convenient before I resort to the dealership parts counter?

Go here for a complete parts catalogue in PDF.

http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesa ... catalogue/

Find your part and part number and order from any local Porsche shop or dealer.

Sunroof...

I just cut the sunroof out of my 993. I wonder if the part from mine might fit. Any thoughts, Steve?

I have two of them with the same part number, you can have them for free. I will bring them to the Autocross on the 16th if you want them.

Wow! Seems like sunroofs are just not in vogue for SDR this year.
I took the sunroof out of a customer car before Spring Mountain as well.

I am thinking there is going to be a mass Jenny Craig theme next year.

BTW- that part is the same from 87-97.
91156412700 and lists for just over $3.00

Thanks, Martin! That's right neighborly! The car's going into black forest this week for usual maintainence and it'll be nice to clip those two in when I get it back.
See you there...

And thanks, Steve... didn't realize it was such a common and inexpensive part. ('porsche'?... and 'inexpensive'?! )

Case closed!

Due to Martin's R's outstanding Christmas spirit (and my prematurely spending $3), I now find myself with 2 sets of perfectly good sunroof deflector arms. (Just one arm-less 964, though.)

So, as temporary Chairman of the Greater San Diego Region's Donated Arm Supply, pass along a note if you're in need of a free deflector arm.

(...wonder if this works, as well, for spark plug wire sets? or engine rebuilds? :roflmao: )
