Hey Dan,
Congrats on the new car! Sorry, I didn't see this post until just now so I couldn't play your tech quiz game. I rarely check any of the forums but the main one. Anyways, I look forward to seeing the new car soon!

Dan Chambers wrote:Excellent! I'll take it! I need specifics on location of stuff, oil and coolant volumes, where the coolant is added and bled off, radiator thermostat location, that kind of stuff... Oh, wait ......

Seriously, I will take you up on your offer for the manual. Thanks heaps!

You make it sound like these things don't apply to the SC! I'll be happy to show you where to add the coolant, check the thermostat, and inspect the radiator...

Dan I will be out the with SC this year, though I don't know if I will make the 27th or not, I'm having a suspension problem that I haven't had a chance to have looked at yet.

I want to see my camera setup too. I sent the camera back because there was an audio recording problem with with and I have been waiting for a replacement unit since mid-December. Today they told me 1-2 more weeks.

There is that single minded thinking of a 911 owner...while it is true that the 944 works quite well on the typical Costco run, unlike the 911, it multi-tasks AND carries four 275/40/17 race tires inside on track days. Try that in any 911 :P

PS - my 911 is a hatchback as well, all the newer Targas are hatchback 911's(don't know why the coupes are not, as it has been handy). It carries more than most 911's, but is no 944

Hey, what's wrong with my white lawnmover :?:

This reminds me of an old TV commercial, watch what happens to the black 4 legged 944

Thanks, Curt.

Gee .... does this mean you'll actually talk to me now that I have an "airhead" car? At least you can now say I own a "real" Porsche. (Although truth be told, the SC drives and sounds more like my old '68 VW Coupe with it's 1750 cc motor and header. They were both designed by the same "family" name, weren't they? )

Looking forward to lessons from the air-patrol crowd. Any pointers will be appreciated.

Jad,

The last time I looked the 911 was a sports car not an SUV. :? Isn't that why Porsche built the Cayenne? Are you sure the water is just in your radiator?

Dave,

You are right, the 911 certainly is a sports car, not an SUV... it just happens that the 944 is both

I've always talked to you. This just means now I won't have to worry about who else sees me talking to you. :D

We'll still find things to bust on each other for, don't worry. Dan A and I both drive the same year 911 and that has never prevented us from smack talking each other. I mean, just because his car has that fruity paint job and the built in Geritol IV drip for the driver, they're pretty similar cars other than that. Oh yeah, except for the motors, one of which is fast!

It's getting harder and harder for the 944 crew to circle the wagons isn't it Jad? You know, it's tough to even make a circle when there is only one wagon left in the caravan.:D

So now the 944 is a wagon as well as an SUV, how versatile. Does it chop and dice as well?

It seems to chop and dice AM 911's pretty well now, it also managed to win KP in both TT's and AX last year. Hopefully, it will be a LOT faster this year, so we will have to wait and see what others it can chop and dice.....

Curt, you are right, the circle is getting small, unless you count the spec 944's, but then again, it is always lonely at the top
