How many points are carburetors?
My 72, 914, has been converted to carburetors?
How many points is that for AX?
I’ve been told both 4 and 8.
Thanks, Chris

F. Induction system modification:
1. Electronic or CIS to carbs/mechanical injection 4-points
2. Venturis or fuel distributor/controller other than original 4-points
The 8-point rule was revised in previous years.

You take 4-points for switching from electronic to carburetors.
If you had a 69-911T with 27mm carburetor venturis and installed 34mm venturis for increased air flow you would take 4-points.
Fuel distributor change is for CIS cars that install a high flow rate unit.
Controller is any modification to an electronic fuel injection computer, such as a chip in a motronic car.
If you take 4-points for the Weber's you put on (with 28mm venturis and you installed 34mm units you don't take the additional points; 4 is the maximum.

Steve,
I had always assumed that aftermarket chips on a non-turbo car were free. Apparently they are 4 points.
Is this new or has it always been that way.
