I'm adding a 2nd oil cooler to my 993. I've purchased a Porsche replacement cooler, but I need to buy/make the oil lines. Does anyone have a source for metric connectors and braided hose, or is there a local shop who could make the lines for me. Thanks for your help.

Are you sweating Spring Mountain in June (105-110 degrees) or September (105-115 degrees)?

Glenn:
Give Jae (Mirage), Steve G. (Dieters), or Jeff/John (Black Forest) a call about oil lines. These guys should all know someone to build what you need.
Otherwise, a bit expensive, but Hose Pros will make you whatever you want ... for a price.
Happy hunting!

Glenn,
Industrial Liquidators on Convoy have all the fittings and braided hose you may need. Also in the north county, VW Paradise in San Marcos has the Earl fittings and hose. Paula there is very helpful and knows the product.

They're just down the road from me. Let me know if you want me to stop by for a quote. I will eventually go the same route myself, so it's no inconvenience....

Black Forest installed the second oil cooler in my C2. I'll be at the AX on Sunday, if you want to take a look for inspiration.

Porsche made a kit to install a second, LEFT side oil cooler in a 964 or 993 chassis.
It consisted of a new mounting pan for the cooler, the cooler (same as one on right), oil lines and baffles for air flow and was a bolt on.
Part number 964.207.022.81 for the kit.

Interesting. Was the second right side cooler in series or parallel with the first one?

It is plumbed in series. I have one in my car.

Sorry I wasn't clear: I meant from an airflow perspective. Are they side by side or back to front?

Imagine a cooler installation on the left side that is identical to the normal factory installation on the right side.
Both coolers are in the same orientation and the airflow pattern is the same both sides.
I don't think you can have air conditioning and the factory cooler kit since the left side cooler goes where the air conditioner's condenser normally is.

Wow, I totally misread your first post.

I though you were saying that two coolers were both installed on the right side!

Now I get it: mine is also a right side cooler mounted on the left in place of the A/C condenser.

Opps, I corrected my post to say a second, LEFT side cooler.

I never quite understood the orientation of the primary oil cooler, and I was thinking of installing the second one so that it was turned facing front for more air flow. Thoughts?
BTW, I have removed the AC condensor, giving me more room.
