Compatability of 944 Body Pannels & Exhaust

Postby jwitte on Mon Jun 04, 2007 4:43 pm

My friend recently bought an '88 944S and is in the process of replacing a few components. Here are a few compatability questions he had:
1. Can one mount a 944 Turbo bumper to a 944S of roughly the same year (1988)?
2. Are the exhaust headers of any 944 Turbos compatable with the 944Ss? If so, is any manipulation of mounts or piping involved?

Thank you for your time.

1-The 944 turbo bumper is not a direct exchange to non turbo cars. You need to use all the sheet metal (fenders and bumper) plus the 944T mounts brackets underpinnings etc...
Not easy; but can it be done, Yes.
Do you want to... probably not.
2-944T and 944S do not have exhaust that is even remotely similar. They use completely different cylinder heads and different mounting flanges.

If he is in need of 944S parts we are about to lien sale a 944S and would make him a deal of a lifetime. It's even got exhaust and bumpers!

Thank you for such quick responses. I'll pass the info on to my friend and see what he wants to do with his car. Once again, thank you.
