Mounting 245/35/18" V710's on Turbo Twist

Postby Zulu993 on Thu Oct 25, 2007 8:14 pm

I know there's been a lot of frustration in mounting these tires on the smaller Turbo Twist (fronts). I am now a victim! Three tire shops later: 1st could even get them on the rims, 2nd succeeded with one but couldn’t get the other on the rim, 3rd just wouldn’t seal.

The best shop – The Wheel Store got the tires on, but they wouldn’t seal. Ironically, I saw another PCA members tires/wheels sitting there with no problems. They said they “need to be hot so they can stretch” – isn’t it 90 degrees out there!! Maybe it’s the lack of the humidity

Any remedies out there? Or go back to RA-1s?

I guess I’m going to the Speed Ventures RM clinic on Sat with RA-1s in the front and V710s in the rear.

Any one looking for a new set of 245/35-18" v710?

My son has mounted my tires for several years at the Discount Tire in Poway. He usually sets them in the sun so they get hot and then mounts them. Pirelli slicks are even worse than the 710s. You could try there, ask for David to mount the tires. I might be interested in the 245/35-18 tires if you don't get them mounted. PM me.
