993 part needed....

Postby 4est on Mon Nov 12, 2007 12:56 pm

I seem to have misplaced the small, rectangular, gold anodized, threaded piece that mounts into the seat bracketry and receives the bolt for the seat. There are two sizes, the smaller for the front of the seat and the larger for the rear. I need the rear one. Anybody? Steve G., John Simone, one of the 993 contingent? Trying to get ready for BW.

Also, is the ABS braing for the 993TT/C4S different than the one for the regular Carrera? My parts guy has asked me whether it has red or black lettering on the sticker (or was it a red or black sticker?) Anyone know, or will someone with a 993TT/C4S look and see (Neil H.?)

Thanks. See you all at Button Willow... barring the unforseen.

I lost my front little plate for the seat bolt. I ended up using a nut instead. I used a piece of masking tape to hold the nut to my finger to get the bolt started. It tightened down without the use of a wrench on the nut.

4est,

There are 3 control units.
1-For standard C2's.
2-For Active Brake Differential.
3-For AWD cars

So no, you can't use a C4S or TT control unit on a standard car.

Steve,
Actually, mine is a C4S. I just took the front drive unit out. Could you give me enough info on the one for mine (w/ABD) so that I get the right one?

Thanks.

Do you have the threaded piece I need for the seat?

I'll check on CU application and PM you tomorrow.

I don't think I have the seat mounting plate but you should be able to get it from the dealer. Part # 92852110108
