What Class???

Postby PShipman on Tue Dec 11, 2007 3:50 pm

I have been going over the class points system seeing if our new/used sway bars affect our class. The more I look the more confused I get.

So how do the following add up for you??? i.e. the following are all the things in the Cab that I know are not pure stock:

    Toyo RA1s
    Front Strut tower brace
    200 lb front springs
Koni adjustable sport shocks on rear
DME Chip (not sure it does anything other than hurt fuel mileage :-( )
Soon ... Weltmeister Sway bars front and rear

Any help would be most appreciated in figuring out our score.

from memory:
Toyo's 2 points
brace 1 point
springs 2 points
shocks 2 points
DME chip free

total 7 points = KS

sway bar 2 points

new total 9 points = KP = :banghead:

Jad,
So if I go back to the stock shocks I will drop back to JS (S2 runs J and not K, thank heavens :-))?????
Also ... I thought the new rules clarified shocks that are "pointable" as
Installation of non-stock shock absorbers with remote or external reservoirs and adjusters

... it seems to me that this reads that the shocks in question should have remote OR external reservoirs AND adjusters. As I read this (or at least what I see as the Zone 8 intent) this would be bracketed as:
(remote OR external) reservoirs AND adjusters))
... In which case note that I don't have remote or external reservoirs NOR remote or external adjusters

... BUT perhaps the intent was to mean
(remote OR external reservoirs) AND adjusters))
...In which case I don't have reservoirs AND adjusters.

The problem (or in my case meaningful solution??? :-)) is the word AND ...

...As I read this, the internally adjustable Koni yellow sport shock is exempt.

Help me to understand why it isn't :-)

Hmmmmm ... no answer from you, Jad ...

I am looking for feedback as to my interpretation of the rule rewrite on shocks. Am I mis-interpreting the rule ... would rather stay JS if we can.
