Just a followup to some of the discussions we had earlier on tire pressure and sorting changes to sway bar and tire settings.

This is soooooo coool ... been making changes to the bars and it is amazing how a centimeter of attach point movement alters how the car feels.

When I first softened the rear (set to 7 mm from end) the car went from crisp turnin and then oversteer TO ---> a soft tendency to need just a little more steering input because of plowing.

Adjustments yesterday to the front (matching sides, getting rid of preload, and softening by about 5 mm towards end) now gives a smooth turnin with no feeling of oversteer ... and the car is so much flatter then it was before!

AND these bars are so easy to change settings on!

Perry, I'm just installing my front sway bar in my spec car. What did you do to get rid of pre-load?

Those nifty little drop links are also turn-buckles (of a sort) ... put the front tires up on ramps so you can get underneath while it has weight on it, pull one of the drop links off of one of the clamps that holds the drop link to the bar, adjust both clamps to the same distance from the bar end, and then adjust the loose turn-buckle/drop link so the bolt now fits back in the clamp and through the drop link end.

Sounds convoluted but it goes real fast!

Sounds to me like you need to talk with Tim Comeau about a Tech Session over at Comeau Racing in Mission Gorge. Good info, good exposure for Tim, and good times with the 944 and 944Spec crowd. Heck, I might just go for the nostalgia of it all.

Idea... Tim and I have been talking about a 944 group gathering at Autobahn. I have two lifts, lots of floor jacks, tools, scales, camber/caster gauge, forklift, sawsalls, plasma cutter, welders bla bla bla. We could be really dangerous. We could do a Saturday afternoon (post 12:00) gathering sometime.

The Trotters' will be there with the Chula Vista Photo Studio Spec in Progress.
