I have the same problem with my quick release adapter in my spec-944. I am going to convert over to a weld on style and get the wheel out of my face. They are about $40 for a good one.

Ahem....
getting back to the task at hand...

I like the quick release that JMC sells.
But like the rest of the driver's systems, it has to be fitted to the driver. Short legs and long torso?
I would spend some time getting fitted to the car as perfectly as possible.

You can use a shorter quick release and/or hub.
You can buy a flat or dished steering wheel.
You can add or subtract rake from the driver's seat.
You can slide the seat forward or backwards.
You can remove or add bottom-front seat cushions.
Mix and match these variables to get the perfect fit so that the driver can concentrate on driving.

"Weld on" is forever, Sean.
You might want to consider that shorter quick release unit from www.getnrg.com, or go to a flatter steering wheel?

there was a guy at the Orange County AX today who was selling pretty nice, no name steering wheels, cheap. He said he also had both long and short quick releases. Unfortunately, I had a mechanical problem, literally a loose screw  , and my day ended early so I never got back to him and got his card. Steve Eguina, the Scheuslers or someone else from the OC probably know who he is... (and my apologies for any misspellings).

Equation: Y=(HP of car*X) / (weight of car-X) where 'Y' is apparent gain in HP and 'X' is the weight lost in lbs.

There.

Again Ian comes up with a totally useless formula for next to nothing. Now you know what I've put up with all these years. I spent the best years of my life trying to raise him right and all that happened is he has corrupted me. Whats' that formula got to do with a quick release steering wheel spacer.

Read entire thread.

Just like Mom always said, you never do anything from start to finish. Always go right to the finish...
