Don Middleton wrote:Martin, Preston's Tire and Wheel on Center Drive in Grossmont Center did the dismount/mount/balance thing this past spring for me for $12.50/wheel. I'm sure they are a little higher now due to the lead price increase, but they are far better than Discount.
Quality shop, and Preston has an RS America...
Mike wrote:fwiw, Years ago I had some tires mounted by the tire shop at Big Willow.
The tire jockey related to me his experiance with all the tires they mounted during a recent 4 hour enduro.
He then proceeded to run his crow bar into the seal where my rims halves met. Created a leak between the rim halves rendering the rim useless.
I'd rather have that happen at home far enough in advance of the event to have time to re-seal the rim.
