993 ceramic hockey puck...

Postby 4est on Fri Sep 26, 2008 9:40 am

Found one attached somewhere under the right front fender while removing the lights and relocating the oil cooler. It looks about the dimensions of a hockey puck, appears to be ceramic material, and say something like 52.2W on the side. Is this some kind of groundiing device for the light system or what?

That might be a resistor for the oil cooler fan circuit.

Does it look like this?

If so, see this DIY:

It is the low speed fan resister for the oil cooler (right side) and AC condenser (left side)
You have no A/C and I assume you are going to run a manual switch for the oil cooler fans since Porsche turns them on at too high of a temperature.
So the car just got lighter...
Sweet!
