PCA SDR

I just purchased a fiberglass hood for my 944 turbo and am looking for some help on installing hood pins.

Looking at the possible mounting points, there really aren't any, so, I'm thinking that a bracket would need to be fitted along where the fenders attach.

what have others done that works? any pictures of an install?

I made some l shaped brackets that come off the side of the radiator mounts-though my no longer has headlights and that is where the pivot used to be.

I also used an "L" shaped bracket. I used the second from the front fender bolt on each side,(which is just in front of the radiator overflow tank on the drivers side) putting the horizontal part of the bracket underneath the fender bolt hole, holding it in place with the stock washer and nut. I drilled a second hole in the horizontal surface of the "L" bracket for the hood pins. I didn't bother with a second bolt through the vertical part of the "L" bracket, which extends down parallel to the inside wheel well. It just seemed stronger using the "L" bracket than using a flat piece of metal stock.
Unfortunately, posting a picture is beyond my technical expertise so you are stuck with this concise description instead. I expect the Chinese to be making requests for me to write instruction manuals for their products as soon as this thread is discovered. good luck

Some old British car manuals I have instructions like this "taking spanner twixt finger and thumb carefully remove the....."

Well, that explains my talent for this sort of thing: I was born in England.

Sorry, Mike. I could have shown you the method we use on one of my race cars when you were here buying the hood.
Works fine as far as the brackets go. I've switched from using the pins with the circular over center locking rings though. I just had a failure of one of these type pins ( the pot metal housing for the ring) which caused the switch to one-piece hitch pins. .These are made of better steel and are faster to pull (enduros) and easier to use.

No problem Tim. We are using "L" shaped brackets and should work great. I will post a picture when I have a chance.
