HotLap installation

Postby ectakach on Tue Jan 27, 2009 1:57 pm

I'm getting ready to install a hotlap timer in my 914 and am not sure where to mount the infra-red "eye." Does it point out the driver side?, the passenger side?, and how high?

Thanks!

At the Autocross it is most of the time on the passenger side, but on big tracks it can vary. Best is to have the cable go thru the center of the car and attach the receiver using zip ties, so you can move it easily on either side.

It will pickup the infrared beam anywhere out of the side window really, but it's probably best somewhere from the bottom to the middle of the window.
