This is what the rules say:
C. All car occupants must wear a Snell approved helmet, which has the current available Snell rating or the one previous Snell rating. If it is a Snell M rated helmet and the occupant is required to wear a driving suit, then the occupant must also wear a nomex balaclava (headsock). Any other helmet currently approved for PCA Club Racing also qualifies. Evidence of this approval shall be provided by the driver, if necessary; such as a current PCA Club Racing inspection sticker or presentation of the Club Race rules.
Face shields or protective goggles are required in all open cars during Time Trials and DE and are recommended for Autocross events. Full face helmets are recommended for open cars.

Yes, this applies to A/X events. Snell ratings are issued roughly every five years, so the current one is 2005 and the next will be in 2010. Your M2000 helmet is from the previous certification cycle, and will be good until the new 2010 spec comes out (which might be 2011, as they often seem to run a little late). You can have it inspected in the tech line at any event. We will put a sticker on the outside so it easier to identify and confirm the certification in later inspections. If you use the M helmet for continuous lapping events, and you are in a class that requires a a fire suit, you need to wear a nomex hood with it.

have fun,
TT
