Tire manufacture date

Postby richard on Wed Nov 04, 2009 10:07 am

Just bought some RE-1's out of a dealer in Las Vegas. The date stamp is June 2008 (2508). This is about a year older than I expected. Assuming they were stored properly should they perform as well as a newer set?

That is a good prodcution date as they are no longer in production.
RE-11 replaces it.

They'll be worn out before they get hard anyway.
Great handling tire.
A durometer will tell the true story but I would just run them and not worry about it.

FYI-When I tried to buy these at Toyos Only they said production is starting again with first deliveries in January.

You mean Toyo RA-1's
Your production info is correct for January.

Your first post says RE-1... Which is an awesome Bridgestone almost an "R" rated tire that is recently out of production.

Missed it by that much... Alex can I buy a vowel?

Darn it! That "available" date for RA-1's keeps moving out further. Last I got just a few weeks ago was December 1.

Got one session left on the tires I got -- but no trailer any longer..... I just can' seem to get t the track this year!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
