Exhaust Accumulator Replacement on Boxster/Cayman models

Postby twitte on Sun May 09, 2010 5:28 pm

I just installed a new part on my 2008 Boxster S that replaces the Porsche "T" connector between the left and right mufflers. This part got rid of the swooshing noise that I heard when accelerating over 4,000 rpm(turbulence of exhaust before exiting the tail pipes). The car sounds much better now. The manufacturer claims about a 5 hp gain and slightly better gas mileage which I can't verify at this point (but it runs great).

Here is a link to more info if anyone is interested. I think it is well worth the money. Fabspeed has a video on their website that discusses the Porsche part and they also believe the "T" connector is a bad design by Porsche.

This part fits both the Boxster and Cayman models.
