Plastic windows for a 944

Summertime. Fewer chances to improve the driver. Maybe there's some time to improve the car a little. I'm thinking it's time to lose the power windows and some other heavy stuff from the 944 spec. Where do you find plastic windows for a 944? Web searching so far reveals only a company in the UK. I see several places that sell lexan or plexiglass. Has anybody made their own this way?

These would just be for trailering or driving to AX on cold mornings.

Thanks.

You might check with jackie Corwin, I recall she kept her door windows and took out the power windows and used a manual strap to hold in the windows when driving to the track.
At the track she just removed the door windows completely.

The hatch and quarter windows are another matter however.
have not seen quarter windows but others have put in Lexan hatches.

Pull the glass and trace out new lexan windows. Easy cut with a jigsaw. In my 911, I just put them down at the track and they stay down in the door. I slide them back up at night and hold with a hook or strap. Go for it.

I cut mine for the 944 S from plastic from home depot using the glass as a template. I left the rails in and they slid in and out quite easily and I held them in with a clamp. Never had a problem with them in while towing back and forth to the track.

Or, I took out all of the mechanism and just used two straps to support the glass. Release the strap and the glass comes out and goes in very easily. Advantages are virtually zero cost, plus you have a solid glass seal, and stock look when the car is parked. You take them out, so why buy something to remove at the track?
