Autopower Porsche Roll Bar Distributors

Are there any local distributors that carry the Autopower brand roll bars for our Porsches? I'm looking for a roll bar with the fixed cross brace for my 1986 944. If anyone knows, post it here. Thanks very much for reading

It took 14 days to manufacture my roll bar by Autopower, I did pick it up.

I picked mine up directly and they were very helpful. I found out late that I needed it in POC for Laguna and they got me a bar in just a couple days.

The only warning, installation costs more than the bar to have it done right.

Andy, There's a 944 roll bar sitting at Dave Turner's shop. It was still there last week? It is discounted to sell......

Thanks Tim for the referral! I have to put the roll bar on hold temporarily but expect to have one in by September I did however upgrade to G-Force 5-point harnesses like you recommended! They are great!!!! I've been using them for the street also despite not DOT legal, but I feel more secure with those than the lap belt before.

hey guys I'm bumping this thread back up for a question regarding bolting. I'll be making a purchase soon and should have a roll bar in before the September or October of this year. I've seen some 944s where the roll bar was bolted through the carpet instead of bolting directly to sheet metal. Is bolting through carpet sanctioned in Zone 8 PCA for autocross, DE and Time Trials?

PCA has no written mounting regulations. The installation will be inspected at tech inspection and generally speaking over the carpet mounting is allowed in PCA. It is not allowed in POC however. So it is best to mount in the fashion that will be legal for all possible sactioning bodies the car might run with.

You should look at how other people have mounted their bars to get an example. The next autocross would be a place to start, and bring your digital camera.

thanks Steve. hehe I always have my digital camera like a paparazzi I figured the best way would be metal to metal. Eventually I'm sure the rules will change and all roll bars will be required to be bolted directly to metal. I couldn't find anything in the autocross/DE rules on here in pdf. I didn't know about the 3/16" inspection hole until I read that. interesting.

FYI I have a full cage for 944 for sale. This system follows the door frame and there is a bar at the sunvisor line. It is an Autopower cage, and includes all hardware, mounting plates, and everything is pre-drilled....ready to install. It even comes with spacer plates for custom fit. (Tim Comeau might know a little something about this cage. )

Included at no extra cost, a seat-back brace and wink mirror. This needs to go so I can have some space. PM me if you're interested. Cost is very negociable .
