Thank you Jay. The usual suspects I thought of too. I spoke with Jeff at BF and they don't do Cayenne PPIs. He recommended Tom at Eurospec in Escondido. Jae's at the track and I figure Adam is probably slammed with 4/20 approaching.

Behr Salehi's shop, next door to Jae's Mirage shop, is called Sport Utility Motorcars. Behr is a long time PCA Member and club racer and a knowledgeable guy regarding Cayennes. I'd check with him!

Thanks Garret. I ended up getting a 2014 Cayenne Diesel a couple weeks ago and will give Behr a shout when the warranty expires.

Where can I find more info about the off road adventure tour? I don't see it listed on motorsportreg or the SDR calendar.

Thanks,
-Terry

Thanks Garret.

More Cayenne questions!

- Trailer Brake Controller recommendations? My 2014 CD has the factory tow hitch so all the wiring should be in place.

- It didn't come with a backup camera. Any recommendations for installers? Behr? I had Hoehn update the PCM software to the latest for this model year.

Brake controller: I've done it both ways in two different Cayenne generations, and I'd definitely get a ProdigyRF so you don't have to mess with drilling and mounting a wired unit in the nice 958 interior. Pairing can be a bit tricky with a 958 at first, but Rennlist has good info about how to do it. Or just send me an email and I can help. Here it is:

For a backup cam, likely any of the audio places that advertise in the Witness can do that, if you're not up for it. If you call Hoehn, the service guys will tell you who they call to install it for them. You'll need this, plus someone to install it:

Thank you very much Garrett for the info and links. I don't have space to store a trailer so I'll be renting for events. Does this change your recommendation for the Prodigy RF? I just noticed on the Uhaul site that their trailers have surge brakes.

You don't need a brake controller if you just use U-haul, or will only use surge-brake trailers, since their brakes work independent of a controller. You just need an adapter to run their 5-pin plug to work the lights and do the reverse lockout function when reverse is selected:
https://www.etrailer.com/Wiring/Tow-Ready/TR20141.html

For trailers with electronic brakes, RF is the best to use, whether or not you own the trailer. I rent/borrow trailers all the time, and just rig up my RF module on the trailer and I'm ready to go!

Terry,

We took our 2013 MB Diesel into San Diego Trailer Supply for the brake controller, wiring, etc. www.sandiegotrailer.com

From what I recall, the German SUVs, regardless of make, all use the same supplier for their factory tow packages and wiring. They did a good job on ours and knew what they were doing.

Members also have trailers for rent for track events and may be better set up for track use (such as fuel container storage etc) than a Uhaul trailer. Something to consider.

Good luck
