Do you need to Heat Cycle Bridgestone RE71R Tires?

O.K., I see A LOT of folks running RE71Rs at our DE/TT events, and I'm sure many of the AX'ers also use them. So I have a question for the peanut gallery:

Is it necessary and/or recommended to heat cycle a new set of RE71Rs before they are used? This is the normal practice for R-compound tires where it helps stabilize the cross-linking of the tread compound and hopefully enhance longevity...

Not in my experience, nope.

RE-71Rs start to fall off after just 2 or 3 cycles, so if you cycle them before running 'em you're giving up one of your "god mode" sessions.

I just run them for 2-3 laps right before timed runs and set air pressures. The next session is as good as it gets... and that's pretty good.
