ISO: Alignment

Postby NickP on Wed Jul 22, 2020 7:38 pm

Greetings- I need an alignment on my 73 911S. Who is the “go to” alignment shop in San Diego that you can highly recommend? Thanks in advance.

There are many others better qualified to suggest than this Old Guy. We're very lucky here in the greater SD area to have choices. That said, will opine that out of modesty, the shop owners themselves will be reluctant to speak up, no matter how good their work is. But I'll jump in. Suggest you check with Jae at Mirage Intl (off Miramar).

Nick,

Steve Grosekemper at Black Forest (and when he was at Dieter's) has done all the alignment and corner balancing on my early 911s, both SWB and LWB, for the last 20+ years and they have always driven really well.

I'll second Jae; he transforms the car.

A quick point: yes, I mentioned Jae (as have others). I personally have used his shop more than once. Super accomplished. But honestly, I'm sure that folks going with Steve are just as committed and happy. Super accomplished. All this goes to prove the point: we are super lucky to live where we do. Both Jae's and Steve's shops are full-service, and it might be that establishing a long-term, full-service relationship goes hand in hand (or perhaps is more important than?) getting an alignment. No matter which direction you go, all will be well. Proven professionals. How lucky we are to have these guys in our PCA-SDR family!!
