Halloween Diagnosis?

Postby blakebastain on Thu Oct 27, 2011 4:53 pm

What's orange, slightly thicker than water, slippery to the touch, and leaking from the back passenger side of my Boxster?

More importantly, how much will it cost me to get it fixed?

That is coolant leaking from the coolant expansion tank.
Probably making a puddle in front of the right rear tire.

Super common failure; Porsche is on about the 6th supersession.
New ones seem to be pretty reliable.
Get it fixed belfore it breaks all the way...
Huge mess (Tank in in the rear trunk) and sudden loss can cause overheating.

I'm almost afraid to ask: what should I expect to pay to get that fixed?
