This must be the first 996 beating the LSS and MSS times at a AutoX.
Usually the Boxster and Boxster S are faster than the 996's, this makes me wonder if the 2004 996 are faster than the previous 996's or is Sean simply fast out of the box (probably a little of both) huh?
Martin brings up a good point and one that comes up in the BRI indices. There are so many factors that determine these outcomes, was it the newer 996, the driver, who competed in the 986S's, was someone having a bad day........hard to say. If all things are equal though, and the newer 996 (is it 320hp?) is winning over the 986S, then maybe the 911 as a car has finally reached the right horsepower to overcome the 986S????
Don't get too excited now or we will have to bring out the fastest 986S driver in our history. Sorry to say, he would have easily wiped your time on Saturday Even with your '04 996 I am afraid.
Actually, there are two fast 986S drivers but I was thinking of the "he". Take a look back at the history, you will see him in the top 10 every time amoung the Prepared, Improved and Race classes! But then he was not in MSS but MS because he won MSS too easily. Though when he ran in MSS Jack gave him a run for his money in his 2000 996.......though "he" won that won too.
