Smog test for Boxster

Postby JayG on Mon Nov 02, 2015 4:59 pm

I just got my registration renewal and I will need to get my Boxster smogged this year.

Does anyone know of a shop, preferably in N County Inland as I live in Rancho Bernardo that will smog it without having to open up the engine compartment?

It's bone stock and I know it will pass the sniffer with flying colors, just don't want the hassle of removing the engine cover

No one...
That is specifically against California smog inspection standard.
Became mandatory a little over a year ago.

Removing the engine cover takes only a few minutes.

You can do it yourself and leave everything but the plastic cover (parcel shelf/carpet) at home before you take it to be smogged.

Quick tutorial on YouTube, if you haven't done it before:

Good luck.
