Driver awards dinner was great!

Postby Tim Comeau on Sun Jan 21, 2018 9:07 pm

What a great time. Saying hi to old friends. Seeing the newbies get their driving trophies. People recognized for their efforts during the previous autocross season. Thanks a million to Carmen and Angie and their crew for the prep work for this event. ....and the venue.. my god, the venue. Thanks to Bill Allen for the use of his expo/hangar. Ultra cool place to hang out. Tons of aviation history stuff, which I love. I was born to be a Navy fighter pilot but had to settle for racing Porsches.

Really awesome event that reminded me of the Installation dinner of yesteryear when we had driving awards.

Thank you for organizing this great event. I really enjoyed it. This was a beautiful location for the driver's awards party.

Great time. Great venue. I hope we return to this location in the future. First time I've been able to hear what's going on in years!

Kudo's to Carmen, Monica, Angela, Mike B., Steve G., and all the rest of the "behind-the-scenes" help who made it happen. :beerchug:

I will join in the praise for this event. The interesting venue is what brought me out for it, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Winning the $500 certificate for tires at the end was just over the top! I never have any luck in raffles or drawings (or the lottery, for that matter), and could not believe it when my name was called! Thanks to everyone who worked hard to make the event such a success, and thanks to the club and Discount Tire for subsidizing part of my tire budget for this season.

Oh yeah, I forgot to congratulate Terry Barnum for winning the Driver of the Year award at the dinner. Way to go Terry! You drove the wheels off that Cayman last year.
And kudos to Alain Stad for the Rookie of the Year award! Does anyone doubt that he has been sliding down the slippery slope of speed hard enough to wind up going Club Racing in a Cup car next year? I wouldn't bet against it.
