Timed Run Videos Chuckwalla CCW 26/27

Postby GT3 on Mon Jan 28, 2019 12:42 am

Let me be the first to post!

Had an awesome time as usual at our first event of the year.

Was really nice to see everyone and also noticed a lot of people lap times are really improving just over last year!

Here is my timed run video the my new GT4 CS, and even decided to run it with no nannies on so I can further my skill as a driver even for timed runs!

Not my fastest laps but going to take things slow until I feel fully comfortable with the car and the setup.

Hope you enjoy!

This was a really good event and I had a great time.
For those who missed the Saturday night tech talk; one of the things I outlined was the results site.
Tons of great info there and a great tool for bench racing.
http://results.pcasdr.org/pca.php?database=tt

That being said, I was doing just that and noticed a newcomer to the top ten that has come out of nowhere.
From also ran to top 10 in the last 3 time trials.
Better watch your mirrors boys... :burnout: :burnout:

Personally, I like to keep an eye on the class records and BRI. 8)

I knew that...
Serious Top 10 drivers in CVR BRI.
Congrats on beating that Jad Duncan guy.
Love CVR for what a HP equalizer it is.
Now I am wishing I drove in 944Spec for timed runs.
Still would have gotten waxed by Shawn.

Not so sure of that, but I appreciate that you didn't drive the 944 Spec all the same. Thanks also for the videos (thanks Greg) posted to the forum from previous timed runs. I studied your last two CCW CVR timed runs (both in the 2:07s, and both also starting with an off for added drama) that really helped a lot. Looking forward to you recording some 2:06's or better yet 2:05's in the 944, to study in the future.

The whole weekend was great and ran like clockwork thanks to all the hard work of our volunteer staff. Yay!

I had some good practice on Saturday morning playing lead and follow with Chuck and running with a pack of four 944s (trying to keep up with Gerald) in another session that helped accelerate the learning. I need to thank Gerald for not running timed runs either, and while I am at it- I also need to be thankful for Isabella's oil pressure issues, Dave's transmission issues, and the Sharp's notoriously worn out tires. :surr:

Nice save at about 1:08 in the video, Mark! It looked a bit frantic for a couple of seconds. :)

1 I will post the timed run video as soon as I get a chance. Still recovering!
2 An absolutely fantastic event. Thanks to all who helped put it on!
3 Congrats to Shawn. I never expected you to turn that good of a time. I guess I will have to bring real tires from now on!!! :beerchug: :surr:
You also got into the top 10 in BRI. Happy that you are doing so well. Keep it up!!!!!
4 It was a Hoot having at least 4 944's all "playing" at one time. Reminds me of a certain time at SOW a lot of years ago. We may have stretched a few rules, but all had a blast!
5 Welcome Danna to the forum AND the top 10!

Nice laps Mark.
I learned a bit about "the line" from watching, specially from the long right hand sweeper near the end up to and approaching the flag tower on top of the hill.

Thanks Tom. It was a bit less grip than I expected, but easy to save. You know how much fun it is in the early cars.

Your videos always put a smile on my face even when you are reeling me in like that, nice job!

Should of showed the next lap, turn 2 was fun watching you go sideways

Figured out after watching all my videos I was way over braking on turns I didn't need to.

To many people over the weekend had to much input for me and I started over thinking things so it got to my head and made me slower :banghead: should of just listened to you about earlier braking as opposed to late harder breaking because in this car I think that makes things easier to keep the momentum going.

Here is another cool video for those who have not seen yet where Bruce Wing was kind enough to get behind me and video tape my inaugural run on my new Clubsport.

You can see by this video all the dust, wind, and debris the red group had to deal with for the first session of the weekend, not to mention everyone getting their mojo back after the winter break so lots of traffic as well.

Ironically enough Bruce and I got our fastest laps of the weekend both in the 1.58s and both on our 4th lap having fun together even with all that going on, and it was Bruce's fastest lap EVER at Chuckwalla, guess I make a good bunny rabbit :)

On a side note... I am trying to promote PCA SDR through youtube with my videos, im starting get some action on them but I need 1000 subscribers to be able to take it to the next level so if you can , Please Subscribe :beerchug:
